Superman: Red Son is an entertaining adaptation of one of the most famous stories featuring the Man of Steel. It’s a fun watch, but fans of the graphic novel may be left wanting more.
Rather than take any controversial sides in a political debate, Red Son merely suggests we can unite against larger foes.
Not only is Superman: Red Son (2020) a good film, it’s also a superlative adaptation of the source material, being both more brutal and less foolish than the (very good) comic it is based on.
What Red Son does, in an effective and perhaps unexpectedly timely way, is consider the extent the flag to which one pledges allegiance defines and shapes the man.
