Song Hye Kyo: Song Hye Kyo reunites with director Lee Eung Bok for her next project. In a report popular South Korean actress Song Hye Kyo is likely to sign up for her next project. Song Hye Kyo is currently negotiating a reunion project with her hit drama ‘Descendants Of The Sun’ director Lee Eung Bok.
Media outlet Newsen quotes an industry insider “From my understanding, Song Hye Kyo has verbally agreed to appear in Lee Eung Bok’s new drama. The genre of the drama will be a mystery thriller. Through the drama, you will be able to see Lee Eung Bok’s top-tier directing skills and Song Hye Kyo’s charms”.
Meanwhile, Song Hye Kyo is currently prepping for her upcoming SBS drama, ‘Now, We Are Breaking Up’. The actress will next film for ‘The Glory’ helmed by scriptwriter Kim Eun Sook who has worked on ‘Descendants of the Sun,’ ‘The Lonely and Great God,’ ‘Mr. Sunshine,’ and other films.
Revisiting memories of ‘Descendants of the Sun’, the series starred the former real-life couple Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo. The iconic story focuses on an army captain (played by Song Joong-ki) and a surgeon who fall in love while working in disaster-stricken areas. With a high viewership rating of 41.6 percent in Korea and 2.5 billion views on iQiyi in Asia, the drama was a blockbuster.
Interestignly, the dating rumours of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo sparked after starring in ‘Descendants Of The Sun’. However, the now-former couple’s friend told Soompi, “They started having feelings for each other before Descendants of the Sun had aired. The drama was pre-produced so they actually began filming in the second half of 2015.”
Later the couple tied the knot on 31st October in 2017 and announced divorce only after 2 years in July 2019.
