Jidenna Theodore Mobisson, better known mononymously as Jidenna, is a Nigerian-American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. In 2015, Jidenna released two singles, “Classic Man” and “Yoga”, promoting Janelle Monáe’s label Wondaland Records’ compilation EP The Eephus with Epic Records.

Jidenna father, Oliver Mobisson, was a respected Igbo academician in Nigeria. He was instrumental in setting up the Anambra State University of Technology. After living in his home country for six years, his father moved back to the USA together with his young family.
His father – Oliver Mobisson – was born in Nigeria, in the Igbo tribe Imo state speculatively. Until 1995, he worked as a computer scientist and college professor at Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT). Their family later relocated from Nigeria to America.
