Upon the suggestions I was not able to fix the issue until I contacted apple support. Contacting Apple support is not really easy for people in Nigeria. From the list of contact phone numbers and online chats, Nigeria is excluded.

After some hours I got below response
Hi there! We’d be happy to help. We know how important it is to have your iPhone working as should. Can you please tell us the affected Apple ID email address? We will start there.
The above message was follow after I presented to them my email which the next response from Apple reads below
We went ahead and refreshed the Apple ID. Go ahead and restart the iPhone then attempt signing in again. Let us know if you need anything further.
