1. Why are you here?
I am here for F1 Visa for my 2-year master’s degree program in filmmaking from New York Film Academy.
2. Why New York Film Academy?
I chose the New York film Academy for 3 reasons.
I. Their study pattern is convenient for me. I needed hands-on training in filmmaking and NYFA emphasized learning by doing as its core method of teaching.

II. Secondly, among the 4 schools that I applied to which are American Film Institute, California Institute of the arts, Florida State University, and New York Film Academy, two gave me admission and New York Film Academy which was my choice gave me a 6000 dollar award to support my tuition which is very vital to me.
III. Lastly, I am impressed with the success rate of the NYFA Alumni in today’s Music/movie industry, and I believe if I am given a chance to study at NYFA the skillset will boost my profile when I return to Nigeria as a music video director.
3. Why not in your country?
Doing a master’s degree in filmmaking in my country is not really what I want now. There are schools, but they don’t meet my expectations in terms of infrastructure, curriculum, and teaching pattern. Mostly what you get is the theory which is different from what I want now.
4. Why the USA?
USA came first while I was searching for a school that will avail me of the opportunity to learn filmmaking by practice. Because of the nature of my course, I needed a school that has all the filmmaking equipment that I will be using in the course of my 2-year studies, and NYFA according to my inquiry is a perfect fit.
5. What will you do with the skill you will learn?
This skill will make me more efficient in my career once I return to my home country. I believe by then I would have found a voice in the industry with the skills I acquired from NYFA.
